Stay Safe On These Hot Days

There is a heat advisory this weekend. Dr Kurshnir at Prime Dental Associates in Johnsburg IL wants you to be safe and stay hydrated.

We all know that we have to drink lots of water when you are exercising, but in weather like this, you need to stay hydrated throughout the day.

Becoming dehydrated is a serious condition. Dehydration, according the the Mayo Clinic is: "Dehydration occurs when you use or lose more fluid than you take in, and your body doesn't have enough water and other fluids to carry out its normal functions. If you don't replace lost fluids, you will get dehydrated." Symptoms of dehydration include: dry mouth, extreme thirst, less frequent urination, fatigue, dizziness or confusion. So if you or your family members experience any of these symptoms, seek medical help!

Wondering how you can stay hydrated and still enjoy this weather? Here are a list of foods and drinks that will help: Water, Water based drinks like iced tea and lemonade, Watermelon, Cucumbers,, Tomatoes, Iceberg lettuce, Celery & Radishes.
